What is the difference between mitosis and cytokinesis? which one has to occur first? why?

Both Mitosis and Cytokinesis are a part of cell division. Basically, Mitosis is a process by which the duplicated genome in a cell is separated into halves that are identical in nature. Cytokinesis is the process where the cytoplasm of the cell divides to form two 'daughter' cells.

During mitosis, when the nucleus divides, the two chromatids that make up each chromosome separate from each other and move to opposite poles of the cell. Which allows cytokinesis to take place.
