What adaptations does a wood frog have that enable it to survive in deciduous forests?

In a deciduous forest, the wood frogs survive extended periods of sub freezing temperatures. They must increase level of blood glucose, they become dormant. They can survive whole body freezing.

A frozen wood frog doesn't move. It can tolerate freezing of extracellular fluids but not of internal organs. It has more than 60% of their body fluids frozen. The water is drawn out of cells into extracellular spaces.
