A mutation is an abnormal change in the DNA within a cell, sometimes resulting in an accelerated pattern of somatic cell division. The acceleration is often caused by an interphase that is much more brief than normal. If left unchecked, a mutation of this sort can result in tumor formation and cancer. Using the knowledge that you gained from this chapter, suggest a method of stopping this type of unregulated cell division.
