Why are recessive traits shown less than dominant traits?

Dominant traits are always expressed when the connected allele is dominant, even if only one copy of the dominant trait exists. Recessive traits are expressed only if both the connected alleles are recessive. Recessive traits are found in fewer individuals as it can only be expressed in hom.ozygous condition. In a monohybrid cross between heterozygotes there is only 25% chance of recessive trait being expressed and 75% chance of dominant trait being expressed. Therefore in a population dominant trait is more apparent.
