As computers get more and more advanced, and AI becomes self thinking, would we ever reach a point where a robot/machine would have to be considered a living thing? Or, looking in the other direction, viruses aren't considered living because they do not have the ability on their own to replicate; but instead require a host cell. But, they then replicate and copy themselves once inside the host cell.
