The phase in which killer t cells strike at foreign cells and at cells of the body that have been invaded and infected is called the attack phase or the phase 3. It is the part where killer T cells would strike the foreign cells and the body cells that were infected and invaded. They would puncture the cell membrane of the cells, sacrificing the body cells to destroy the invaders from within. This action is called as cell-mediated immune response since the attack is done by the cells. T cells would also trigger inflammatory response and would recruit macrophages to aid in the cleaning of the site.
