Ionosphere is the layer of the atmosphere that receives enough energy from the Sun to break apart molecules and atoms.
It is the part of our atmosphere that can be found at about 60 km up to 1000 km in the air. It definitely gets enough solar radiation, which allows it to be made up of electrons as well as charged atoms and molecules . It is also quite important for radio propagation around the globe.
