In general, why does a tall person have a higher basal metabolic rate than a shorter person of the same weight?

Since basal metabolic is the minimum energy needed for a body to function during rest. so taller person has higher basal metabolic rate than shorter person of the same weight because the taller person has more skin surface area, meaning it can release more energy in the form of heat so it will require more basal energy
