Alfred Wegener discovered that there are similar mountain ranges on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. An example of this is the Appalachian Mountains that disappear
off the coast of Newfoundland and the mountains that are found in the British Isles.

-they are located in the surface of earth, deep within the earth and beneath the ocean floor."
