Unlike antibiotics which essentially take the place of your immune system, vaccines are used to teach your body to fight for itself. Vaccines introduce harmless parts of a virus or bacteria into your body which teaches your own immune system to recognize and fight that virus or bacteria without the risk of being actually sick. Why are vaccines less likely than antibiotics to create drug resistance in bacteria?
