Several theories have been proposed for the origin of the moon. According to the fission theory, the moon was spun off from Earth when Earth was young and rotating rapidly on the axis. According to the giant impact theory, a smaller body struct Earth early in history. The impact blasted portions of Earth and the colliding body into Earth's orbit. Debris from the impact eventually came together to form the moon. Astronomers provided four statements of evidence.
1. Earth has a tilt and is not oriented on exactly the same ecliptic plane as most other planets in the solar.
2. Calculations show that Earth has never spun fast enough to throw off a Moon sized body
3. the density of the Moon is the same age 4.5 billion years old
4. The density of the Moon is the same as that of the rocks just below Earth's crust.
Which Piece of the evidence provides the strongest argument against the fission theory?
a. Statement 1
b. Statement 2
c. Statement 3
