Blood agar is enriched with sheep or horses blood and is used to detect hemolysis of red blood cells. Bacterial species that are capable of alpha hemolysis turn the media a greenish brown color while bacterial species capable of beta hemolysis turn the media clear. This makes blood agar not only an enriched media but also a media.
