Crops: Industrial farms make unconscious use of pesticides and fertilizers that penetrate the soil contaminating it, polluting water, and affecting plants and animals that live around that land and beyond. Animals and people exposed to pesticides such as insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides, have been shown affected by their effect.

Meat: Meat production turns to be one of the principal causes of water and soil pollution. Contaminants originate mostly from animal wastes (dung, blood), antibiotics, hormones, chemical substances used in the tannery, and sediments of eroded soils.

Both industries play a principal role in global deforestation. Most native forests get cut down to make a place for the development of these activities.

Fish: Overfish is one of the most important environmental problems caused by fisheries. Uncontrolled resource overexploitation leads to species´ extinction. Huge amounts of animals get caught in any of their stages of development. Young animals do not reach the reproductive stage, and reproductive females can not release eggs.  This causes important damage to the reproductive rate of the species. Also, when overexploiting, many other unwanted species get caught and die on the nets. Accessory capture is the cause of death of many invertebrates, fishes, and marine mammals die because of the fisheries nets.
