I would say that a disease that would harm the root could possibly force it to not take in water. It could destroy the root itself in which would cause the whole plant to die. The disease could even stop it from reproducing so that new flowers can bloom.

the father in the first generation probably had the recessive colorblind trait in his x chromosome. if he and his wife both had the colorblind trait, even if she had 1 recessive and 1 dominant, then that trait would be passed on to their kids.
