Addition to the mutant cell of an F factor carrying the wild type lac operon does not restore the ability of the cell to ferment lactose (i. e., the lac operon on the F does not confer ability to ferment lactose) Addition of cyclic AMP to the cells also does not restore the ability to ferment lactose. Given this information, which, if any, of the mutations listed above are still possible causes of the phenotype? Would the mutation(s) be cis-or trans-acting? Briefly explain your choice(s).

Pls me i need this ! each cell has genes activated depending on it's job and what kind of cell it is. it is the presence of that causes the repressor protein to fall off and unblock the gene on the lac operon. if a gene is turned on then it is being an additional circular chromosome found in some bacteria that is used in genetic engineering.
