Growth factors are important for regulating the cell cycle. Insulin-like Growth Factor Deficiency (IGFD) is a condition where a patient does not produce sufficient growth factors, leading to a short stature as well as other growth abnormalities. How would IGFD modify cell-cycle activity to cause limited growth? Too many cells would enter the G0 phase.

The interphase period would become too short.
IGFD patients will develop cancer because of an unregulated cell cycle.
