If transpiration do not occur water will enter the roots of the plants because water enter through the roots by osmosis and move to the xylem vessels after which it get to the leaves and it is lost by evaporation and transpiration. Transpiration is the process why by water is loss through the stomata opening of the leaves and this help in exchange of gases, reduction of excess water and help in plant growth.
