A genetics engineer was attempting to cross a tiger and a cheetah (It’s a Chester Cheeger!). She predicted an outcome of the traits in the offspring to be: 25% with stripes, 18.75% to have spots and 56.25% to have both stripes and spots. When the cross was performed and she counted the individuals she found 50 with stripes only, 41 with spots only and 85 with both. What is the null hypothesis? What is the Chi-square value? Did she get the expected outcome? Should she accept or reject the null hypothesis?
