Please help! I’ve tried hard to find the answers but I’m struggling. 1.A firefly relies on a protein called luciferase to produce light. Luciferase is an enzyme that catalyzes a light-producing reaction in a special organ in the insect's abdomen. Name three organelles that you expect to be abundant in the firefly cells based on the organelle function AND why?

.Two eggs are soaked in vinegar to remove the shell and expose the thin semipermeable membrane that surrounds an egg. One egg is placed in a hypotonic solution (distilled water) and the other is placed in a hypertonic solution (highly concentrated salt water). (1) What passive transport process will occur? (2) Describe the movement of molecules that will occur with each of these eggs.

.Sensors on a spider's legs feel the vibrations of a trapped insect and relay the information to the spider's brain through nerve electrical signals. For nerve cells to maintain these electrical potentials, sodium must be removed from the cell and potassium must be moved into the cell. Describe why this process is a form of active transport and what is required for active transport to occur?

.Using specific substances used and released by photosynthesis and cellular respiration, explain how they are both related and chemically opposite from one another.

.While cutting potatoes to increase their surface size before you cook them, you accidentally cut your finger. Once the bleeding stops, underlying cells begin to divide to repair the damage through the cell cycle. During interphase, how does a cell prepare for division? Describe cell division, including the processes of mitosis and cytokinesis. Be sure to describe the mitotic steps.

.The diagram below shows a cellular process that occurs in organisms. How can you determine if it is Mitosis or meiosis? Explain how mitosis and meiosis are alike and how they are different. Provide at least two similarities and three differences.
