Why do plants supplies bacteria with amino acids ?

All living cells need nitrogen to make nucleic acids, proteins, and other cellular constituents. Plants absorb nitrogen and put them into amino acids and proteins. Other organisms consume the plants. As part of the major nutrients in the diet, amino acids should be particularly taken into account since they not only support the growth and survival of bacteria in the GI tract [27], but also regulate energy and protein homeostasis in organisms [28,29].
