After watching an advertisement for hand sanitizer on television, Ben decided to see just
how effective the advertised hand sanitizer really
was. Ben used warm water as his control. He
compared the advertised sanitizer with two
brands of hand soap. After using the three
products and the control, he cultured the
bacteria on his hands. He recorded the number
of bacterial cultures that appeared on each
culture plate. Ben's results can be seen in the
data table. Ben concluded that both brands of
soap were more effective in killing bacteria than
the advertised hand sanitizer.
