The concentration of salt is lesser than the concentration of salts in the solution. The membrane of the cell is permeable and hence it shall allow movement of salt ions towards the region of lower concentration from the region of higher concentration in lieu to the concentration gradient formed (supported by differences in concentration of salt within and outside the cell). Like the movement of salt, the water shall also move from region of high concentration to region of low concentration and thus water will move out of the cell thereby shrinking it.
