The structural characteristics that phospholipids and triglycerides have in common are;
1. They both have fatty acids which vary in number whereby triglycerides has three fatty acids while phospholipids have two fatty acids.
2. They both have glycerol. Despite phospholipids and triglycerides being similar, phospholipids are not fats as the way triglycerides are. Phospholipids are good crucial to the formation of lipids bilayers and it helps in maintaining the structure of cell membranes.
They help in the breakdown of fats during the process of digestive. They both have one molecule of glycerol, and they both belong to a group of a compound called lipids.
