Rotenone affects insects by inhibiting the production of ATP and also inhibits the mitochondrial electron transfer system through the inhibition of the enzyme NADH ubiquitone reductase, which prevents the availability of oxygen for cellular respiration and also the most essential system that converts food to energy,attacking and impairing the function of cells if the central nervous system. Rotenone is both a contact and a systemic insecticide,it inhibits the transfer of electrons from Fe-S centers in complex I to ubiquinone in the electron transport chain. This prevents NADH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) from being converted into usable cellular energy that is ATP and thus prevents the availability of oxygen for cellular respiration.

osteogenesis imperfecta (oi) refers to a congenital ailment of bones. in the condition, the bones become brittle or fragile. this ailment is a general result of the defect or mutations in the genes (colia1 or colia2). this mutation results in imperfect collagen formation either in quantity or quality wise.
