1. cut a cardboard circle about twenty-five centimeters in diameter (twice the diameter of the one shown here).

2. mark an x at each point where an hour would be on a clock face. at each x write the name of a zodiac constellation as shown in the figure. color or decorate your circle if desired. this is your constellation circle.

3. draw and cut out another circle about twenty centimeters in diameter. at the edge of this circle draw a small picture of the sun.

4. fasten the two circles together with a paper fastener through their centers. the paper fastener will represent the earth.

5. draw a line from the earth through the sun.

6. line up the earth and sun with "the fishes." type the name of that constellation in the first row of column 1 in the chart below.

7. in column 2, type the name of the constellation that would set just after the sun sets. this constellation will be to the immediate right of the constellation lined up with the sun.

8. turn the constellation circle counterclockwise one constellation. repeat the previous two steps with the next constellations. fill out the entire chart this way. each time, note which constellation is in line with the earth and the sun and which one would set just after sunset each time.
it is a chart with two columns, on the left it says constellations in line with earth and sun and the right column it says next constellations to set
