How do models ecologists understand global systems?

A global model will help scientists to gain knowledge about every system in detail. Global models will provide details to ecologists about the particular mechanisms and actions taking place in systems. The ecologists will also be able to understand the unique interactions between systems through the help of models.

Models can also help scientists in generating new ideas and hypothesis based on which new discoveries and theories can be made.

for  example, forests have higher evapotranspiration than other ecosystems,  such  as grasslands, because of their deeper roots and greater leaf area. thus forests have a net moistening effect on the atmosphere and become a moisture source for downwind ecosystems.
