In the cloning procedure we use, it is possible, albeit unlikely, for multiple inserts to form a concatemer and be cloned into a single expression vector. if three egfp inserts were cloned into a single pet-41a expression vector, would egfp be expressed (following iptg induction), and if so, would these colonies have more fluorescence compared to clones that have one copy of the egfp gene (following iptg induction)? why can’t two consecutive efgp inserts be cloned into pet-41a in your experiment?
