A blood group is a way of grouping certain characteristics of blood based on the presence or absence of certain molecules, called antigens, on the surface of red blood cells. ABO system
In this case the substance that determines the blood group is sugars, and according to its composition we find four groups: A, B, AB and O. The Rh system

Compatibility
By combining these two systems we can arrive at a more detailed classification of the different blood types: A +, A-, B +, B-, AB +, AB-, O + and O-. Some of these blood groups are rarer than others.
