Explanation:

It is in Anaphase I (meiosis) where the chromosomes are pulled apart towards opposite ends, which we call poles, of the cell.  At the start of this phase, the sister chromatids are still together, held by the centromere. The spindle fibers then attach to each half and start pulling them apart.  The next phase would be telophase when they reach both ends already.
