Identify the characteristics of protists

Protists are mostly unicellular(one celled) eukaryotes whereas a few protists are multicellular(many celled).They are eukaryotic which means they have a nucleus that is enclosed by a membrane.They are divided into three categories;animal-like protists, which are heterotrophs and have the ability to move,plant-like protists, which are autotrophs that photosynthesize and fungi-like protists, which are heterotrophs, and they have cells with cell walls and reproduce by forming spore.They are mobile or immobile

Protists are eukaryotic organisms that cannot be classified as plant,animal or fungus.Protists can obtain energy they need to live by consuming other organisms and have the ability to move hence they are said to be heterotrophic while others can obtain energy by manufacturing their own food through a process known as photosynthesis which involves capturing light energy and storing it in carbohydrates for they cannot move  hence said to be autotrophic.protists may live primarily in water though some live in moist soil hence they can be found almost anywhere on earth where there is liquid water,even in humans.
