Compartments of the cell are: the mitochondria, chloroplasts, peroxisomes, lysosomes, the endoplasmic reticulum, the cell nucleus, the Golgi apparatus even vesicles, and microtubules can also be counted as compartments. The purposes of compartmentalization are:
