What are the two different types of assaults? what is the difference between an assault and a homicide?

Physical assault causes grievous bodily harm, such as prior to the commission of a murder or aggravated assault.

There are two different types of assault. Sexual and domestic assault. An assault is just attacking someone, not necessarily killing them. A homicide is actually murdering the person.
