What do prokaryotes have in common with eukaryotes

Both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells have structures in common. Both cells have a plasma membrane covering them, ribosomes that make proteins, cytoplasm, and DNA in common.

Prokaryotes have few things in common with eukaryotes.

Explanation:

1. Plasma membrane: Both prokaryotes and eukaryotes are surrounded by a membrane made up of phospholipids and proteins. It acts as a semi permeable barrier between the inside and outside of cell.

2. Ribosomes: Ribosomes are present in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes and are needed for protein sysnthesis. Prokaryotes have 70s ribosomes and eukaryotes have 80s ribosomes.

3. Cytoplasm: In prokaryotes the space inside the cell membrane is called cytoplasm and it includes all the cell organelles including the nucleoid. In eukaryotes cytoplasm is separated from nucleoplasm due to presence of nuclear membrane.

4. Genetic material: It is found in both which is nothing but the DNA.
