How do phosphates influence biotic factors

The phosphorus cycle is one of the gradual biogeochemical cycles. It does not remain in the atmosphere, as it is usually found in a liquid form at room temperature. Phosphorus primarily cycles via soil, water, and sediments.  

Phosphate is most usually found in the form of phosphate ions, which is discharged from the weathered rock and get dissolved in groundwater where plants consume it up. Phosphorus is a limiting element for plants in water and on lands. However, the cycle gets fastens up slightly as it cycles through animals and plants.  

With the death and decay of the plants and animals, the phosphorus gets returned back to the soil, and sediments eventually get locked back in the rock.
