Why are enzymes important to living things?

They control the speed of chemical reactions in a living things body

Enzymes are proteins that control the speed of chemical reactions in your body. Without enzymes, these reactions would take place too slowly to keep you alive. Some enzymes, like the ones in your gut, break down large molecules into smaller ones.

Some of her  assignments would be creation of drugs. she is a medical chemist after all so she'd need to have the necessary knowledge to make medicine which can later be sold in a pharmacy
