Evolution refers to the gradual accumulation of genetic variations in organisms so that they become better adapted to the changed environmental conditions. The organisms with beneficial variations are favored by natural selection leading to evolution.

Changes in environmental conditions such as temperature, wind pattern, rainfall, etc. affect living beings by posing need of evolution of adaptive features. If there is no change in environment, natural selection would not operate on genetic variations and the would not be evolution.
