The first stage of the cell cycle is "Interphase". This stage involves the maturity of the cells and the replication of its DNA so that it can prepare for the next stage known as mitosis. Mitosis is the second stage which copies chromosomes and divides them into two nuclei. The last stage occurs when there is a separation of the cytoplasm and daughter cells are created.
