The colossal head monuments have managed to survive thousands of years, however have been faced with various circumstances that have caused damage. name one form of damage incurred to the monuments.

One formed of damage incurred to the monument is human caused. One example of this is the damaging done by a local mason during the mid-20th century. The mason tried to open the opened upper portion using a steel chisel. Because of such action the top is broken / fragmented.

What i think is that it adds loudness for preachers/church choirs. it is also able to hold up a lot of weight without pillars. : )) idek tho
