One of the earliest surviving photographs is a still life by daguerre, featuring:

Plaster casts, a framed picture, and a wine flask, by a window. He fixed the image developed with the mercury vapors by bathing it in a strong solution of salt and hot water.

Photojournalism adds emphasis and power. if some one told you that a bomb blew up the world trade center, you wouldn’t have believed them until you saw it on the tv or in the newspaper.
