"Lucy! Phone's for you! Daniel's calling!" said Lucy's mother from downstairs, chopping up vegetables. Lucy scurried downstairs, grabbing the phone. "Heyyy Dan, how are ya?" said Lucy, in a soft tone. "I'm good, just fishing with my dad again. Such a bummer." replied Daniel, with the sounds of water surrounding him. Lucy just smiled. "Hey, tell you what, I'll stop by and bring you some cherry pie, mkay?" said Lucy. Daniel, with a laugh, said "Sure, no problem. Catch you later, Lucy." She put down the phone and smiled. "If only he knew how much I love him." she thought to herself. "Looks like someone's in love," said her mom, with a smile. "You know, when me and your dad used to be younger, we'd like to go and have picnics in the sun and watch the old couple fight over walking canes. Boy, what a treat." Lucy laughed. "Mom, I'm not in love, we're just friends." replied Lucy. "And besides, that was in the 90's. It's 2021 mom, no one does that anymore." She ran upstairs to change and bring Daniel his pie.

(A few minutes later) "Hey Daniel! Over here!" exclaimed Lucy. "Aw, Lucy, you shouldn't have!" said Daniel, bringing Lucy closer in for a hug. Lucy smiled, and imagined how their lips would lock, but just in that thought, Daniel's dad came along. "Ey, didn't I shay no gerls coming along weth us, eh sonny boy?" said his dad. Daniel's dad had this accent that made him sound like Mr. Krabs, and it was funny. "Dad, she's just bringing some pie. She's gonna leave, right?" said Daniel, glancing at Lucy. She nodded in confusion. "Alright den, come along with yer good ol pops." said Danie's dad, signaling towards the boat. As his dad walked away, Lucy handed him the pie, but tripped over a rock. The pie went flying and Lucy fell on Daniel. To her surprise, he turned red. She bit her lip "Are you.. blushing?" she asked him. "No, not at all, you're just heavy as three golf carts combined." he replied in a wheezy voice. They both laughed as they got up and dusted off. "well, catch you later, see you!" said Lucy, weakly. "Bye Lucia Darren Thompson" laughed Daniel. She snickered. He was always a jokster.

(Couple hours later) "Darling, where've you been! It's 9 pm! You are so grounded!" said her dad, in anger. "Actually, hold that thought. I was delivering uh.. FOOD! Food to the um.. homeless! Yes, I was!" she said nervously. Her dad let her off the hook. She ran up to her room and thought about Daniel. "I wish he knew how I felt." said Lucy, changing her clothes. "Tap tap" went the window. Daniel was there- and Lucy was undressed. "AH! DANIEL NO!" she exclaimed. Her mom asked if she was okay, but she said she was fine.

(At school the next morning) "Lucy, can I tell you something?" asked Daniel. "Sure, anything. I'm all ears." replied Lucy. He pushed her against a locker. "Lucy, you're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, and I've liked you for ever. I just didn't know if you felt the same." said Daniel. Lucy was in shock. She didn't say another word. "Oh, stop the small talk and k*** me already!" she said as their lips locked. Lucy was in heaven, but little did she know so was Daniel. They stayed there for a minute, but it felt like forever.
