MC stands for Masters of Ceremony
DJ stands for Disc Jockey.

A Masters of Ceremony is the official host of the event. He/she is tasked to introduce speakers, interact with the audience, and keep the event on track according to its program.

A Disc Jockey is a person tasked of playing recorded songs (pop or dance music) that guests can dance to. He/she introduces the song that he/she is playing. 

Ithink the men do it because the women work very hard, especially during childbirth. as for whether textiles are a "female-only" art, certainly not! there is no such thing as a job the other gender can't do (pardon my bluntness).

Maybe because it was so unique, a form of art, and they could easily store things in it and no one had ever done that before. i’m not sure but that’s what i think : )
