a the next-to-last flat the same as the key signature
b you do not refer to the flat with the key signature
c the first flat is the key when there are more than two flats
d the last flat is the same as the key signature

including the octave, the answer would 8 notes in a major scale with one note being played twice. ex) c major scale includes: c, d, e, f, g, a, b, c

notice that c is played twice

however, if you were to ask me how many different notes are in a major scale- the answer would be 7.  

i think these large heads represent their gods and i do think they were worshiped by the people. if there was only one head and no heads around it i think it would be monotheistic but if there are several heads close to each other it could be polytheistic.
