If the gas station is 1 mile away from my house and it takes the average human to walk 1 mile 10- then why is it taking my dad 15 years to get back.?

Either he is lost or he is intentionally taking extra divergences or he just walks really slow. It also depends is it actually taking him fifteen years because if that is so he may either be dead or he left you or was kidnapped but if you are exaggerating then he is just walking really slowly I guess.
