David and his family love Mexican cuisine. When a new Mexican restaurant opens in town, they decide to visit with David's grandparents on opening night. In front of the restaurant is a neon sign with blinking lights that
seem to show a woman dancing. Though the restaurant is crowded, David's family immediately notices a booth
open near the kitchen and takes a seat.
David's 65-year-old grandfather forgot his reading glasses at home and has trouble seeing the menu. David's
mother orders a diet soda and his father orders a regular soda. When their orders arrive, David's mother thinks
the waiter mixed up the drink orders, but his dad cannot taste the difference between the sodas. David's mother
looks for their waiter to fix the error and mistakenly summons a patron returning from the restroom. Even
though the restaurant is crowded and noisy, David's family holds a clear conversation throughout their meal.
On their way out of the restaurant, David's family discovers that they had failed to notice their neighbors sitting
at a table near the entrance. The two families say hello and discuss the restaurant's delicious food. They
discover that David's family thought the food was much spicier than their neighbors did.
