Refer back to the video in the introduction to 6.1 - Is Google a Monopoly? Let’s assume that Google is a monopoly. Should Americans be concerned? Typically people are weary of monopolies because of the pricing power that they have. But using Google Search is free.
Should the United States government step in? If you say yes, how should they punish the company? Whether you say yes or no, be sure to justify your answer.
Create a new post in which you respond to the question above. Your post should:
Provide thoughtful and practical suggestions for how the issue of scarcity should be approached.
Reference key ideas and terms from the lesson.
Be well organized, well-written in professional language, and free from grammatical errors.
After you have made your post, provide a substantive response* to at least one other student.
*A substantive response means a response which adds to the conversation started in the original post in a meaningful way. Some examples of substantive responses include sharing a reaction to the original post along with an explanation, asking good follow up questions, or sharing a personal experience that relates to the original post. Simply saying that you agree or disagree, or making general comments (e. g. "great job" or “I disagree”) does not qualify as a substantive response.
