1. Since Emma beat his score with her awesome grade on the learning test, Dean decided he was having trouble in his AP Psychology class. Despite his efforts and recent success, he went back down to #2 status on his last exam. The stress of this was enough to make him worried about his condition. Could it be the test was biased? He’d learn that in the next unit...Was it that his personality fragmented, like in Dissociative Identity Disorder? No, it can’t be, disorders are in the unit after testing. He’d have to seek therapy but that’s three units from now. After consulting with his psychology teacher, Dean came to the conclusion that he might have a personality conflict here. So he built a time machine to go back and seek out 3 famous psychologists and their theories on personality to better understand his issues. Dean decided to look at the following theories:
• Psychoanalytic
• Humanistic
• Social-Cognitive/Social-Learning
Explain these theories in terms of their approaches to personality. Include at least 1 prominent individual, the basic components of each theory, and 1 disadvantage to each theory.
