And the deserts are characterized by the high annual temperature, lack of rainfall and vegetation.

But both these ecosystems shares a common characteristics, which is in terms of plants having a shallow or short root system.

In both the ecosystem there occurs scanty of rainfall, as a result of which water cannot be stored long in its roots, from which the water is transported to the entire part of the plant body for its growth and expansion.
